By integrating the gate drive circuitry, sense amps, protection, FETS, industry standard control interfaces, and drive algorithms, the design complexity, board space, and time to spin a motor have all be greatly reduced. Texas Instruments DRV8872-Q1 Automotive Brushed DC Motor Driver is for infotainment, HUD projector adjustment, motorized shifter knobs, and piezo horn drivers. Two logic inputs control the H-bridge driver, which consists of four N-channel MOSFETs that provide bidirectional control of motors up to 3.6A peak current.
